ISO {Denton, Texas Photographer}

Recently, I found these:

I took these photographs about ten years ago for these gentlemen.  The “trader’s cards” were made to hand out when they gave public talks.  The kids especially loved getting them! 

For about a year now I’ve been trying to figure a way to give back to the Denton, Texas, law enforcement and emergency personnel.  After finding these cards and remembering how much fun we had making them I decided that this is one thing I want to do.  So, I am now In Search Of two things: 1) Law enforcement and/or emergency personnel who would like to have a set of  these “trader” type cards, and 2) a sponsor for each person.  There is no limit to the number of people I will do this for, but we will have to find a sponsor for each person who wishes to take part in this activity.

If you are someone who would like a set of these, or if you know someone who would like them, or if you would like to be a sponsor, please contact me and let’s get the ball rolling!!

The Haircut

So we get to the shop to get b’s haircut.  Leaving the car he’s still all about this whole haircut stuff, but once we get inside, not quite so much.  He realized that someone he doesn’t know is going to be doing the cutting.  All the sudden he HAS to nurse and there is no way he is going to take no, not now, or a little later for an answer.  So we nurse, then he HAS to have the other side too!!!

Anyway we finally get down to the business at hand….

Still a little apprehensive….

Then Rhonda got him talking about the cool animals on the cape he was wearing and he began to warm up to her.

Then she used water, how fun is that!?!?!?!!!  Well it was for b anyway.

Then we were able to get down to business and talk about length.

The bangs get cut.

I think they’re buds now, don’t you??!!

We even had a few kisses flying around.

b is pretty happy with the results so far.

Deep contemplation (must work the tongue to do this you know).

b tries to give Rhonda his form of payment (even though it was hers to begin with).

Mommy’s still not so sure about all this.  Too bad it’s too late (I supposed I could try to glue it back on somehow).

I must say I actually LOVE the final result.  Isn’t he just the cutest????

Well that’s it the haircut, once again thanks to Ken for handling the camera and to Rhonda at Billy Shears for the great experience (again).  If you’re in need of a haircut call 940-387-5411.  Ask for Rhonda, obviously she’s great.

Skater Boy

Just a few favorites of my little skater boy.  Thank you, Ken for helping me with this session, it turned out awesome (I’m still amazed about the things we accomplish when we work together)!!!!

OK, so you might notice his hair.  It’s beautiful, isn’t it?  Granted in these it’s a bit wild, usually it’s tied back at least such that it is out of his eyes & mouth, but for this session I wanted to have the full skater boy look going on.  The little man turned 2 (on 9-18) & he has decided he’s ready for a haircut.  Yes, we let him decide, seems to us a much nicer time would be had by all if a small child actually WANTS a haircut & it would probably look better in the end too.  His appointment is set to get his haircut Tuesday 11:00 AM.  The lady who will be cutting his hair is the same one who gave B & k their first haircuts.  I am happy because hopefully I can stop saying thank you but this one is a boy & people will be able to get that on their own, though I do have my doubts.  I love his hair, he’s had it always, but he is ready & I guess I’d better get that way too.  Though come Tuesday they maybe sweeping me up off the floor along with his hair.  Stay tuned, I will be posting more 2 year old sessions with this one prior to his haircut & some later in the week after it.  Heck maybe even some during it, maybe you’ll catch a tear or 2 from Mom.

I Love Newborns

This little girl, is oh SOOO precious.  She is 4 days old in these, isn’t she just, adorable?!?!?!!

She started out VERY alert, she is looking RIGHT at the camera!!

& then…

I think I might have made her sleepy.

Then she woke up, sort of…..

…..really it is soo nice when they sleep so well, it makes it easier for both of us!!

The Bluebonnets Are Coming!!!

A SNOWY DAY in Denton, Texas!!!!

Today around noon it began SNOWING!!  Mind you we live in Denton, Texas, which doesn’t see very much snow.  It snowed & snowed (in our house we call this a blizzard), here are some scenes from the day.

The BEST thing on a day like this.  It took me a long time to get this fire going.  I had to dry the kindling in the oven (shhhh don’t tell anyone though).  It was so warm & beautiful, so I think it was worth it!!

 

The Arctic Fox girl that Ken & Kendall made after Ken got home from his bus route.

 

The worst part about today was that Benjamin is sick with the croup.  I was sad that I couldn’t take him & Kendall out to play in the snow for some photographic fun together.  I hope you enjoyed our snowy day!!
